Nearly sixty thousand children have been recruited into armed groups in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) since 2006. The head of the child protection section of the UN Mission in the DRC (MONUSCO), Ms Dee Brillenberg, Wednesday, February 6, in Kinshasa, on the occasion of the opening of the workshop on the situation of children in the DRC in the context of armed conflict.
"Thousands of children have been recruited, more than 55,000 children, almost 60,000 children, have been documented by us [MONUSCO] as having been recruited by armed groups and forces since the year 2006," he said. she said.
